Katrina & I have wanted to visist Lord Howe Island since first reading articles from Dean Butler, Rod Harrison , Steve Starling & Peter Morse back in the 80 ‘s !

We stayed at Lorhiti which was fantatsic & I would happily recommend it to any one planning a trip to LHI

Lorhiti is also the closest accomodation to Ned’s Beach where you have to swim with the fishes –  it is simply fantastic !

We did a day trip with Lord Howe Legend Jack Shik where we caught the iconic Yellowtail kingfish & huge Silver Trevally with Balls Pyramid in the back ground – which was surreal  !

Celebrating my 50th Birtyhday I also set a goal of climbing Mount Gower during our visist – standing at 875 metres, Mt Gower is Lord Howe’s highest mountain and is rated as one of Australia’s best day walks, the Mt Gower hike is a challenging eight hour return trek, complete with rope-assisted climbs, dizzying drops and spectacular views !
