Few fish are cooler on fly than BIG tarpon in shallow water and Florida is still one of the best places on the planet to do it 😉

We spent a week fishing with Hervey Bay born Captain Jarad “Dingo” Boshammer how has been a licensed captain for twenty six years. At age 16 Dingo left Hervey Bay and started traveling the world chasing billfish. “Dingo” as his friends call him now resides in Jupiter, Florida. He settled down in this small town to raise a family and choose a different path for his fishing career. When he is not guiding Dingo can be found on his Chittum flats skiff fishing every chance he gets 😉

Giant tarpon are great fish on any tackle !

The Silver King !

Tarpon are super cool fish on any tackle and after watching Katrina get one sightfishing a live crab to a school of high and happy tarpon I had to give it a go as well 😉

“Dingo” would start most morning by flying his drone along the beach searching for the Silver King 😉

Not a bad way to christen my new Abel Reels ROVE 11/12+ in Larko Tarpon finish 😉

I spent some time in that cage and now want one on our boat 😉

First cast of the morning amongst happy rolling tarpon and I get an eat from a massive fish – I get the leader inside the rod within twenty minutes which is classified as a capture , but I wanted to hold her 😉

Two and a half hours later after having the leader well inside the rod tip several times we broke her off boat side – Dingo called her for approx. 180+lbs ….

Katrina with her first snook

After we had both caught a couple of tarpon we decided to chase a few snook – Snook are such a cool fish and have some many similarities to our Aussie Barra – from their appearance to the techniques they repond to and the way they fight and jump !

Any fish on topwater is a bonus – this is Katrina’s first snook caught walking the dog 😉

GT racing barra 😉

STOKED with my new PB Snook at 41.5″ Inches or 105cm in our scale on a Nomad Vetrex Max 95 Vibe 😉

This is the full video of my flyfishing efforts including the largest tarpon I have ever hooked and toughest fish I have fought to date !
