The Shimano Curado baitcaster reel has been a leader in the field for over ten years and with the release of the new G series, it looks set to continue that trend. The iconic green Curado with its superior drag and casting ability has made it a favourite amongst northern Australian anglers chasing large Barramundi. But it is the durability of the toughness of the reel that has made it such an icon in the baitcaster category.

The new G series has many of the features that its predecessors possessed, but much, much more. The frame and spool are made from aluminium while the side plates are made from lightweight graphite to keep the reel light and easy in the hand. The range also features 4 shielded A-RB bearings and an anodised spool, so it is made to handle to harshest of salt or freshwater conditions.

Coming in four sizes with gear ratios up to 7.0:1 it is the perfect weapon when you need to land a hard pulling Barra out of a snag. Each model offers 5kg of drag and can get up to 190 metres of 30lb braided line on the spool.

This series is set to become the new favourite amongst salt or freshwater river anglers who are looking to land that big catch.
